Bio

Aidan Moravec is a baritone from Southern California who started singing at the age of 9 in the Pasadena Boys Choir. His interest in opera and classical song developed after he was accepted at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. There he studied and performed roles such as Sweeney Todd and Escamillo, a role which he took all the way to Scotland for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016. Aidan was a Classical Voice Semi-finalist in the Music Center’s 2017 Spotlight competition, a 2018 National YoungArts Foundation Merit Winner, and a three-time Opera Buffs grant recipient.

In spring 2023, Aidan received his BM in Vocal Performance from the USC Thornton School of Music where he studied under Rodney Gilfry. There, Aidan had the opportunity to sing new works, such as Crossing by Matthew Aucoin and Minskman in Jonothan Dove’s Flight, as well as the iconic baritone role of Count Almaviva in USC Thornton Opera’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro. Following his performance as Theseus in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Aidan was named a 2021 Studio Artist at Will Crutchfield's Teatro Nuovo in New York, to cover Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. He was invited back to Teatro Nuovo in 2023 to cover Fabrizio in Ricci's Crispino e la comare, not long after his capstone degree recital for USC where he produced and performed a chamber arrangement of Schubert’s Winterreise. Following an invitation to perform for the art song festival Songfest in 2024, Aidan received a performance certificate from California Baptist University in 2025.
